The Best Treatments For Flea Bites

Flea bites can cause excessive itching, a lot like a mosquito bite does to us. There are some simple remedies that can relieve that itch and many if not all of the ingredients can be found right in your home.

Using Lemons To Relieve Flea Bites: Lemons have a natural acidic quality that can relieve the irritating itching caused from an allergic reaction to the fleas saliva. The lemons also have an anti-inflamatory ingredient that will help with the swelling a bite may cause.

To use the lemon, you will need either fresh lemon juice or fresh lemon slices. If you are using lemon juice just squeeze some of the lemon juice either on a cotton ball or directly on your skin where the flea bite is. If you are using a fresh lemon, take the lemon slice and squeeze the juice out of it and use the lemon slice to rub it directly on your skin. With either lemon remedy you are using, let the lemon dry on your skin and leave it there for a couple of hours. There is no color left on your skin.

Make A Home-made Paste To Relieve The Itching: To make a paste from cornstarch and water it is very simple. Mix 1/2 cup of cornstarch with 3 to 5 tablespoons of water and mix into a paste like consistency. Now take a small amount of the paste and apply to the affected flea bite area of your skin. Let dry for about five minutes. This paste is much like calamine lotion without the pink coloring.

Using Aloe Vera For Itch Relief: Many people have aloe vera plants right in their homes and don’t even realize that they are a natural healer for all sorts of skin irritations. Even if you don’t have an aloe vera plant, if you have aloe vera gel anywhere this can be used just as effectively.

If you have and aloe vera plant, look for a nice long stem on your plant, the fatter the better. Break off the stem of the aloe vera plant half way down. If you look at the inside of the stem you just broke off, you will see a clear gel like substance popping out of it. You are going to rub the gel directly on any areas that are itchy and let it dry.

If you are using aloe vera gel, just squeeze some out onto your hand and apply to the flea bites, let it completely dry.

You need to try not to itch your flea bites after you have treated them. If you are still itching from the flea bites you can re-apply any or all of these home-made remedies to your flea bites.

There are many home-made remedies you can use to kill the fleas in your home so that you aren’t attacked and bitten by them anymore.
